Privacy Policy

We collect information in the following ways:

• Account Registration & OAuth: When you register directly or authenticate via a third-party OAuth provider (Google, GitHub), we may collect your name, email address, profile picture, and unique provider ID.
• Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, features used, and session duration.
• First-Party Product Analytics: We use first-party product analytics to understand whether core product flows work and where they can be improved. Your browser creates an anonymous UUID in localStorage and a session UUID in sessionStorage. Product events may include a normalized page path, the product action, a ticker symbol where relevant, and coarse operational fields such as the feature surface, duration range, device category, locale, or a predefined error category. Authenticated events may be linked to your account by our server. These product-event analytics identifiers are separate from authentication cookies and the anonymous device cookie described below; these systems use different identifiers, serve different purposes, and have different retention periods.
• Product Analytics Exclusions: Product events do not contain search text, prompts or AI responses, your email address or name, full URLs, query strings, or referrers, your raw IP address or user agent, or arbitrary error messages.
• Chat & Query Data:When you submit questions or prompts through our AI-powered chat feature, those inputs are processed to generate responses. For all users, recent messages are briefly cached to maintain conversation context within a session. For Pro subscribers, your full conversation history — your questions and the AI's responses — is stored so you can revisit and continue past conversations; it is kept while your account is active and deleted when you delete your account.
• Query Analytics Metadata: We log anonymized metadata about the questions asked across the platform — such as referenced ticker symbols, topic categories, and the query language — to understand usage trends and improve the product. This metadata is not linked to your account and never includes the text of your questions or the AI responses.
• Anonymous Device Data: Users who access the service without registering are assigned a randomly generated device identifier in a cookie. It enables limited query functionality and lets us measure aggregate usage — how many anonymous visitors use the service each day, whether they return, and whether they later create an account. The identifier contains no personal information, and the only thing recorded against it is which calendar days it was active — never the pages you visit or the content of your queries.
• Watchlist & Portfolio Data: Any tickers or portfolio entries you save are stored and associated with your account.
• Contact & Support: If you contact us via email or our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process and respond to AI-powered queries and generate personalized insights
• Maintain conversation history within active sessions
• Send administrative messages, updates, and security alerts
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Personalize your experience and remember your preferences
• Monitor usage patterns to improve platform performance and reliability
• Comply with legal obligations

IntelliStock uses third-party large language model (LLM) providers, including Anthropic and OpenAI, to process user queries and generate AI-powered analysis. When you submit a query, your input — along with relevant market context — may be transmitted to these providers for processing.

We do not intentionally transmit personally identifiable information to LLM providers as part of query processing. However, you should avoid including personal or sensitive information in your queries.

These providers are governed by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. IntelliStock takes reasonable steps to ensure that data shared with these providers is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Market data displayed on the platform is sourced from third-party providers, including Polygon.io. Your use of the platform may involve data being fetched on your behalf from these providers. IntelliStock does not share your personal information with market data providers as part of normal service operation.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and secure OAuth token handling.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enable core service functionality. This includes:

• Authentication cookies to keep you logged in across sessions
• An anonymous device cookie for non-registered users: a random, cryptographically signed identifier used to track query limits, keep anonymous chat context, and measure aggregate usage (daily anonymous visitors, return visits, and sign-up conversion). It expires 180 days after your last visit and carries no personal information.
• Preference cookies to remember your settings

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the service.

Our service integrates with third-party websites and services that are not owned or controlled by IntelliStock, including OAuth providers (Google, GitHub), LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI), and market data providers (Polygon.io). We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through our platform.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

Pro conversation history (your saved chat transcripts) is retained while your account is active and removed when you delete your account.

The anonymous device cookie expires 180 days after your last visit. The daily-activity records associated with it (device identifier and calendar day only — no pages or query content) are retained for up to 24 months for trend analysis, after which they are deleted or further aggregated. If you create an account, we record which anonymous device the account was created from to measure sign-up conversion; that link is stored with your account and deleted with it.

Raw product events are retained for 13 months. If you delete your account, the deletion process nulls their direct account association and keeps an unlink tombstone for the anonymous UUID that prevents later re-association. De-identified aggregate history may remain.

Anonymized query analytics metadata (referenced tickers, topics, and language) is retained for up to 24 months for trend analysis, after which it is deleted or further aggregated. This data contains no account identifiers and no query text.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data
• Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is the legal basis

Our service is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
